A Bit About Me

A highly experienced translator with more than 20 years experience as an in-house and freelance translator.

I am born and bred German, however, I have lived in English speaking countries for over 20 years now, making me bi-lingual not only in the written and spoken word but also in the finer nuances of both languages. It is the finer understanding of nuances in the tone of voice, choice of words etc. that you only gain when being surrounded by native speakers on a daily basis. I initially based myself in London, UK, however, after meeting my Kiwi husband in this wonderful city, we decided in 2005 to move to his home country of New Zealand which I have since called my home, too.

My broad based knowledge of technical and specialised translations, as well as being able to interpret complex documents at short notice has been developed over many years of working on a wide variety of translation projects. I enjoyed in-house translations immensely as it was a great way of perfecting my translation skills as well as being exposed to a great variety of subject matters.

I have been working as a freelance translator for a number of years in cooperation with many international translation agencies and for clients both in New Zealand, the United States and Europe in the fields of advertising and marketing, fashion, travel and tourism as well as general business and finance.

My passion for languages and the art form of translation is still as strong as ever and I hope that with my services I may be able to help my customers make connections where otherwise they would have been "lost for words". My business is based on the belief that my customers' needs are of the utmost importance, and I am committed to meeting those needs.
